Shown above is an entry to create a BF ticketing arrangement field. The
purpose of this entry is to indicate when the BF will be ticketed.
The entry consists of the ticketing function identifier "T.", followed by
the letters "TAU" for "ticketing arrangement--unticketed", an oblique and
the ticketing date.
In application, the entry shown above would create a BF ticketing
arrangement field indicating that the BF is to be ticketed on 10
February.
A ticket is usually issued for a BF sometime after the reservation is
created. This allows the passenger time to think about his or her
reservation before committing to it. It can be difficult or costly to change
a reservation after the ticket has been issued, because most fares have a
cancellation or change fee.
Sometimes, however, you will need to ticket a BF immediately after you
build it. In such cases, the above entry, which "arranges" for ticketing on
a future date, would not be required. However, you will still need to create
a ticketing arrangement field because it is one of the five essential BF
fields. The ticketing entry you must make is
T.T*. This indicates that the BF will be
ticketed immediately.
