Shown above is an entry to record a
ticketing date in the ticketing arrangement field. The purpose of this entry is
to specify when the PNR should be ticketed. On the date entered in this field,
the computer will automatically remind you to issue a ticket for the PNR.
The entry begins with the ticketing
ICK 7, which is followed by the letters TAW for "ticketing arrangement -
will call", the ticketing date and an oblique.
In application, the entry shown
above would create a PNR ticketing arrangement field indicating that the PNR is
to be ticketed on 10 February.
One
case in which you would not enter a ticketing date is if you plan to issue a
ticket immediately after building the PNR. In such a case, you still need to
create a ticketing arrangement field. (Remember that it is one of the five
essential PNR fields.) But instead of entering a ticketing date, you would
enter 7T-A, which indicates that the PNR will be
ticketed immediately. We will practise the immediate ticketing entry later in
the course.
