Shown above is a standard entry used to create a phone contact element in a PNR.

The entry consists of the transaction code "AP" for "advise phone", followed by the three-letter code of the city or airport closest to the contact location, a space, the actual phone number, a hyphen, the travel agency name, another hyphen and the ID code "A", which stands for "agency".

In application, the above entry would add the KTM telephone number 014443055 for travel agency SIMSIME TRAVEL , as a PNR phone contact element.

The spaces in this entry are included for clarity. You must enter the phone number exactly as you want it to appear in the PNR, because Amadeus will record it exactly as you enter it.

It is also possible to use the shortened entry AP to input the travel agency telephone number and name automatically. This entry will extract the agency details from the office profile

The second and subsequent contact elements should contain contact information for the passengers in the PNR.

When creating phone contact elements for the passengers, the hyphen and one-letter identification code are placed directly after the phone number. Two standard codes are used when entering passenger phone contact elements: "H" for home or hotel, and "B" for business. You may also see "M" for mobile phone, though

APHEL 06 329 44-B CALL WEEKDAYS BEFORE 1300/P1

Note the characters at the end of the first three entries, following the oblique. These are called passenger associations. Passenger association is used to identify the passenger to whom an element applies when there is more than one passenger in the PNR.

These three passenger associations mean, respectively, passenger 2, passengers 1 and 3, and passengers 2 through 4.

The fourth example above shows an extension and a name instead of passenger association. You would specify a name when the phone number belongs to someone other than the passenger, such as a personal assistant. The last two examples show explanatory text, both with and without passenger association. As always, passenger association should be placed at the end of the entry, preceded with an oblique.

Passenger association should always be used in PNRs with multiple passengers when the contact element does not apply to all passengers.
