Shown above is an entry to create a BF name field. The purpose of this
entry is to enter a single passenger name into a BF.
The entry consists of the name function identifier "N.", followed by the
number "1" for "one passenger", the surname, an oblique, the forename and
the passenger's title.
In application, the entry shown above would create a BF name field with the
passenger name of Mr James Atkins.

Please examine the example and consider the following points:

-
The full forename, as it appears on the passenger's passport or other
identification, must be used.
-
Titles are normally required.

Now shown is the entry to add the names of two passengers sharing the same
surname.
The numeral "2" following the function ID tells Galileo the number of
passengers you will be adding to the BF with this entry. This number will
always equal the number of forenames and the number of obliques entered in
the format.
In application, the entry shown above would create a BF name field with the
passenger names of Mr Kyle Valk and Mrs Emily Valk.
Up to 9 passengers sharing the same surname may be specified in a single
entry. Each forename is preceded with an oblique. The number of obliques
must always equal the number of forenames, which must equal the number of
passengers specified at the beginning of the entry.

The entry shown above enters five passenger names into the BF name field.
Please study it carefully and see that it contains the following five family
members:
-
Mr Samuel Patel
-
Mrs Ritu Patel
-
Ms Meera Patel
-
Miss Slade Patel
-
Master Peter Patel
Slade and Peter are children. It is recommended to use the title "Miss" for
girls and "Mstr" for boys when entering names of children. Children are
passengers age 2 through 11. Entering names of infant passengers (age 0-2)
requires the use of a separate entry.

Now shown is the entry to enter an infant's name into a BF. This is the
standard single-passenger name entry with three differences:
-
The letter "I" for "infant" and an oblique are entered after the function
ID.
-
A number is not entered before the last name.
-
A name remark showing the infant's birthdate is added to the end of the
entry.
There are two important notes to consider:
-
Each infant name field must be accompanied by an adult name field and the
adult name must be entered first.
-
The birthdate must be formatted in the usual GDS manner: the date
followed by a three-letter month and a two-digit year.

Remember that infants are children under two years of age (between zero and
23 months). While these passengers usually do not require their own seat,
their names must be included in the BF name field
