Entering received-from data
FUNCTION ID |
RECEIVED-FROM |
R. |
ADDISON/PAULMR |
Shown above is an entry to create a BF received-from field. The purpose of
this entry is to identify the individual who initially makes, or later
changes, the reservation.
The entry consists of the received-from function identifier "R.", followed
by a name entered in any format.
In application, the entry shown above would create a received-from field in
the BF, identifying Mr Paul Addison as the person who requested, or made
changes to, the reservation.
The field after the function identifier "R." is a free-text field. This
means that any information, in any format, may be entered.
It is suggested, however, that the passenger's name be entered in the same
format as the name field. If, however, there is only one passenger in the
BF, the letter "P" for "passenger" may be entered instead. This is a quick
way of entering the received-from information, but is
not appropriate for
multi-passenger BFs. For multi-passenger BFs, the received-from entry should
have enough information to unambiguously identify the person who requested
the reservation
The received-from entry allows a free-text format following the full stop,
thus making any entry possible. However, the importance of making accurate
received-from entries cannot be overstated. Take note of the examples
below.
